About the role
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead complex commercial electrical construction projects focused on healthcare, institutional, and large-scale commercial environments within an electrical contractor setting.
This role carries ownership of project execution from preconstruction support through closeout, including coordination with general contractors, field teams, BIM, estimating, and internal leadership. The position is best suited for a commercially experienced electrical PM who understands how to manage schedules, change orders, project flow, and field operations without requiring foundational PM training. This role is critical to supporting long-term backlog and maintaining execution across multiple active projects.
Responsibilities
Oversee commercial electrical construction projects from project kickoff through closeout while maintaining schedule, budget, and quality targets
Coordinate directly with general contractors, electricians, field leadership, BIM teams, estimators, and internal operations staff throughout project execution
Manage project schedules, RFIs, submittals, procurement tracking, change orders, and project documentation
Support project setup, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial performance across assigned projects
Review electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate field execution and scope alignment
Work closely with field teams to address installation challenges, manpower needs, and jobsite coordination issues
Interface with owners, inspectors, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain project momentum and resolve issues quickly
Support estimating and preconstruction coordination as projects transition into active execution
Maintain communication across multiple active projects while ensuring deadlines and operational priorities are met
Operate within internal ERP and project management systems to maintain accurate reporting and project visibility
Qualifications
5+ years of commercial electrical project management experience within an electrical contractor environment
Experience managing healthcare, hospital, institutional, university, lab, or large commercial electrical projects preferred
Strong understanding of commercial electrical project lifecycle management, including schedules, change orders, takeoffs, and field coordination
Experience managing projects in the $3M–$15M+ range strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Experience working directly with general contractors, field crews, and internal construction teams
Familiarity with Bluebeam, AcuBid, ERP systems, or related construction software preferred
Must have direct commercial electrical contractor experience; general contractor-only backgrounds will not be sufficient
Residential-only electrical experience will not be considered for this role
Must be comfortable working onsite and supporting active construction projects in-market
