About the role
The Account Manager plays a critical role in safeguarding business continuity, operational stability and contribution protection for the Italian market within ArcelorMittal Long Europe – Sections & Merchant Bars.
The position is designed to ensure continuity in a context characterized by:
loss of experienced operational resources,
upcoming retirements,
and the need to progressively transfer know‑how, stabilize execution and rebuild lost capabilities, while maintaining service level and customer coverage.
Italy represents a strategically relevant market, with strong contribution and acts as a key EU export replacement market.
Reporting Line
The role reports hierarchically and functionally to the same position:
Chief Marketing Officer Italy – Sections & Merchant Bars, who is also
Managing Director of ArcelorMittal Commercial Italy S.r.l.
This governance model ensures clear accountability and coherent strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership – Italy
Act as commercial reference for the Italian market
Ensure full coverage and continuity of commercial activities
Manage and stabilize customer relationships through direct involvement in key interactions
Monitor market trends, pricing dynamics and competitive landscape
Identify and mitigate risks impacting volumes, margins and service level
Commercial Execution & Ownership
Manage the full commercial process end‑to‑end: quotations, negotiations, contracts, order booking and follow‑up
Coordinate with mills, logistics, pricing and demand planning to ensure execution quality
Support claims management and ensure timely resolution
Monitor receivables, credit limits and contractual compliance
BCOE Coordination & Direction (Functional)
Act as functional coordinator and reference for BCOE resources supporting the Italian market
Provide guidance, priorities and operational direction without formal people responsibility
Support onboarding, training and stabilization of BCOE back‑office resources
Contribute to rebuilding operational capabilities lost due to recent resignations
Knowledge Transfer & Continuity Safeguard
Support a progressive and structured knowledge transfer from senior and long‑tenured resources
Document customer specifics, commercial processes and operational know‑how
Reduce dependency on single individuals and safeguard continuity over time
Profile & Experience
3–5 years of experience in B2B commercial roles, preferably in steel, long products or industrial markets
Strong track record as individual contributor with full ownership of commercial activities
Proven ability to operate autonomously in complex and under‑dimensioned environments
Strong negotiation skills and customer‑centric mindset
Experience working in international and matrix organizations
Pragmatic, execution‑focused profile with strong sense of responsibility
Education & Languages
University degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent experience
Fluent Italian and English required
Additional European languages are an asset
Mobility
Significant travel within Italy (>50%), with occasional visits to mills or international sites
