About the role: This role provides strategic and technical leadership to software engineering teams, including onshore, offshore, contractors, and interns, to deliver scalable, secure, and AI-enabled software solutions. The Manager drives execution across the software development lifecycle while evolving teams toward AI fluency, modern engineering practices, and product-centric thinking .

The position partners closely with product, architecture, data, and business stakeholders to define and deliver high-impact solutions. It is responsible for building high-performing teams, fostering innovation (including GenAI adoption), and ensuring delivery excellence .

Additionally, this role contributes to technology strategy, talent development, and organizational transformation , including the responsible adoption of Generative AI, automation, and intelligent systems .

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & AI Fluency

Build and lead high-performing engineering teams with a focus on AI fluency, continuous learning, and innovation

Establish a culture of experimentation, responsible AI usage, and engineering excellence

Mentor engineers in both core software engineering and AI-assisted development practices

Delivery & Execution

Own end-to-end delivery of software solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, and reliability

Drive adoption of modern SDLC practices, DevOps, and automation

Oversee planning, execution, and delivery across multiple initiatives and teams

AI & Innovation Strategy

Identify and drive Generative AI use cases to improve products, developer productivity, and operational efficiency

Partner with architecture and data teams to embed AI capabilities into platforms and services

Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies aligned with business goals

Architecture & Technical Oversight

Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture, security, and engineering standards

Provide guidance on system design, data architecture, and integration patterns

Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical challenges

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with product, business, and customers to define technology strategy and roadmap

Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership

Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

Talent & Organizational Development

Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent

Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation

Drive upskilling initiatives in AI, cloud, and modern engineering practices

Operational Excellence

Manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor partnerships effectively

Ensure strong governance across security, compliance, and responsible AI practices

Continuously improve engineering processes using data-driven insights

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ years of software engineering experience, including modern cloud-native development

3+ years of people leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred)

Demonstrated experience leading AI/ML or data-driven initiatives (GenAI exposure strongly preferred)

Proven ability to lead distributed/global teams and drive outcomes across complex organizations

Engineering & Architecture

Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern architectures (microservices, event-driven, APIs)

Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)

Deep understanding of data platforms , including data modeling, pipelines, and real-time processing

Experience designing scalable, resilient, and secure systems

AI / GenAI & Data Fluency

Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts (LLMs, embeddings, prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning)

Experience integrating AI capabilities into products or workflows (e.g., copilots, automation, NLP use cases)

Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, and model evaluation

Ability to guide teams in leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., coding copilots, test generation, automation)

Software Delivery & DevOps

Expertise in Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation (TDD/BDD)

Experience with observability, reliability engineering, and performance optimization

Familiarity with modern engineering productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE)

Leadership & Execution

Strong experience with resource planning, budgeting, and delivery management

Proven ability to lead onshore/offshore hybrid models and vendor partnerships

Skilled in coaching engineers and developing future leaders

Ability to drive organizational change and technology adoption , especially in AI and automation

Collaboration & Communication

Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Strong product mindset with focus on customer value and business outcomes

Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
