We are looking for a Global Capital Markets professional focussed on Infrastructure Capital Markets business to join our Global Center in Mumbai. The analyst will support the origination, structuring, execution, syndication, and portfolio management of financing transactions across the infrastructure sector, with a focus on renewable energy, energy transition, tax equity, tax credit transferability, and high-yield / leveraged debt financings.

The Analyst will work closely with senior team members, counsel, risk, credit, finance, treasury, and senior management to execute complex structured financings for solar, storage, wind, power, and broader infrastructure assets. The role offers exposure to financial modelling, transaction structuring, and ongoing portfolio management.

You will receive variety of trainings covering financial analysis, business presentations, and practical skills. At the end of training, you will be able to understand financial concepts and have a strong understanding of the Morgan Stanley culture. In this role, you will gain exposure to financial markets and macro trends, build knowledge of banking and capital markets sectors and products, and work with bankers in core locations. High performers will be eligible for internal mobility opportunities globally.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting transaction execution across tax equity, tax credit transfer, high-yield, project finance, and structured debt financings

Building, reviewing, and maintaining financial models, including project finance models, tax equity models, credit models, valuation analyses, and portfolio projection models

Preparing client materials, pitch books, investment memoranda, credit approval materials, syndication materials, and internal committee presentations

Assisting with due diligence, including review of project documents, financing agreements, third-party reports, operating data, financial statements, tax assumptions, and sponsor materials

Supporting underwriting and credit analysis, including assessment of cash flows, downside cases, leverage capacity, repayment risk, sponsor strength, collateral value, and structural protections

Coordinating transaction workstreams across internal teams

Assisting in the pre-work for negotiation and execution of financing documentation, tax equity agreements, tax credit transfer documentation, debt documents, and syndication materials

Supporting ongoing portfolio management, including tracking asset performance, reviewing operating and financial reporting, reconciling distributions, updating projection models, monitoring covenant compliance, and preparing internal portfolio updates

Contribute to process improvement, automation, and technical initiatives aimed at improving data accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of DCM workflows

Provide ad-hoc analytical and operational support to meet evolving business needs and ensure smooth execution across transactions

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, project finance, infrastructure, energy, credit, structured finance, or related capital markets roles.

Experience with renewable energy, power, tax equity, tax credit transferability, project finance, high-yield debt, leveraged finance, or structured credit is strongly preferred but not required.

Skills and qualifications

MBA / CA / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Keen interest in Capital Markets and intellectual curiosity

Strong financial modelling ability and sound credit judgement

Written competency and spoken language fluency in English

Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with global teams

Strong analytical and quantitative skills and comfort in working with large datasets

Agility and ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Team player with a strong work ethic and motivation to learn

Exceptional attention to detail, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; familiarity with Bloomberg and market data tools (Bondradar, Dealogic, Pitchbook)

Ability to manage expectations and handle high-pressure situations

Programming and coding experience / knowledge of AI tools is encouraged
