Senior Software Engineer

Our client, a global tech company, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join their team on an initial 6 month contract with a view to extending further. This role can be carried out remotely from anywhere in the Republic of Ireland.

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners

Responsibilities

Be a technical contributor on an Agile team, collaboratively realising features through the software development lifecycle

Help lead in design, development and unit testing of the Cloud products including enhancements and/or resolution of any issues that may be reported

Design, code, test, debug and document software according to Cloud’s systems standards, policies and procedures, and navigate between these responsibilities

Responsible for preparing and presenting design documentation

Analyse business needs and create software solutions and apply domain-driven design

Requirements

Essential

Proficiency in Java, REST, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka

Expertise in loosely Coupled Microservices Event Driven Architectures

Extensive understanding of Cloud-native systems, designed to embrace rapid change, large scale, and resilience; API First design, API gateways and Service Mesh architecture

5+ years of related experience in a software development role, extensive experience in cloud domain

Preferred

Good understanding of User Interface – React framework

Preferable working experience in large scale projects
