Roles and Responsibilities:

Conceptualizing and structuring mergers & acquisition, and corporate restructuring strategies from tax and regulatory perspective

Providing advice on relevant laws and statutes pertaining to mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring

Key statutes handled include direct tax laws, Company Law regulations, securities laws, exchange control regulations, stamp duty laws

Implementation support for scheme of mergers / arrangements

Conducting due-diligence reviews on prospective target companies from a historical and future tax perspective

Leading and managing client relationships to ensure seamless execution from start to end of project

Coaching/ developing junior members on the concepts of corporate tax

Providing M&A advisory services

Monitor work, manage, motivate and guide to deliver work of high quality

Develop appropriate client relationships and identify further client opportunities

Keep up-to-date on developments in tax and regulatory space – FEMA, SEBI, Corporate Laws, etc.

Performance management of team, work allocation and identification of training and development needs

Take a significant role in sharing knowledge and supporting the development of team members

To ensure that the risk and other policies are being adhered to

Experience in working in a regulatory environment and exposure in corporate tax, corporate law, FEMA and SEBI would be an advantage
