Our entrepreneurial Digital Platforms team is seeking a high-performing Digital Banking Product Owner with a passion for building innovative technology, developing solutions to complex problems, and helping scale our platform.

As a Product Owner, you will lead exciting technology initiatives to bring new products to market for both the Morgan Stanley and E*TRADE client-facing platforms across web and mobile. This is a highly collaborative role in which you will work closely with digital Product Managers and partner with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, operations, legal, risk, compliance, fraud, and business stakeholders to transform the experience for our customers. You will help define and drive the digital product strategy and then develop, launch, and enhance the platform to meet customers' unique needs.

In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of ten sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.

What you'll do in the role:

Work in a fun, fast-paced environment designing new and improved banking technology for clients (mobile apps, websites, embedded AI etc.).

Create a vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital banking product offerings.

Deliver new products by partnering directly with technology, business, and operations teams to define and write requirements, manage the overall project plan, and execute deliverables.

Lead client research, requirements development, and user experience design for new digital products.

Support usability testing and translate findings into product improvements that drive increased adoption.

Research and analyze the digital banking and wealth management industries, with a focus on cash management and digital payments.

Present findings to executive management, and drive change execution aligned with Wealth Management priorities

Skills Required:

3-5 years of professional experience in wealth management, retail banking, and/or consumer financial technology.

3+ years of professional experience in technology product management and design.

Software development lifecycle experience preferred.

BA/BS required; MBA (or advanced degree) preferred.

Deep understanding of web and mobile technologies

Deep understanding of Retail Banking competitive landscape and emerging technologies

Sharp focus on usability and design

Excellent relationship building capabilities with internal and external partners

Understanding of Banking business risk and control mechanisms

Independent initiative and ability to operate in a fast paced environment

Strong attention to detail in both technical and non-technical capacity

Strategic thinker able to define and evaluate alternatives, and translate goals into specific project tasks

Excellent communicator with solid written and verbal presentation skills

Solid business understanding to align product goals with organizational objectives

Effective communication to collaborate and influence more junior team members and stakeholders

Analytical skills to dive deep into data, identify trends, and inform product decisions.

Technical proficiency to understand the development process and support implementation

Problem-solving ability to navigate challenges and refine solutions

Team collaboration to work closely with cross-functional teams and foster a productive environment.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs
