About Alta Ares

Alta Ares is a deeptech startup founded in 2024, building real-time AI for defense operations — ISR, C-UAS, and autonomous systems. Our clients are NATO-aligned militaries and defence institutions, with regular deployments during live exercises and operational demonstrations. We raised €2M seed in May 2025, 50M in June 2026, and are expanding fast.

Our product suite includes:

Real-time AI ISR module deployable on drones and tactical platforms

Counter-UAS solution enabling autonomous drone takeover in GNSS-denied environments

Full-stack MLOps platform for training & deploying military-grade AI models

Data fusion and trajectory prediction

Role & Mission

As IT Support Engineer, you will be Alta Ares' go-to person for all internal IT operations — from provisioning laptops and creating email accounts to managing access rights and supporting employees across international offices. You will ensure that a fast-moving, security-conscious team always has the tools, access, and support it needs to operate at full speed.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role. You will build and maintain the internal IT infrastructure from a relatively early stage, establish robust processes for a company scaling rapidly, and work in close coordination on security and access policies.

1. Device & Asset Management

Own the full lifecycle of Alta Ares' hardware fleet: procurement, configuration, inventory tracking, maintenance, and decommissioning

Manage the laptop and equipment stock across Paris HQ and other offices

Configure and deploy workstations for new joiners (MacOS / Windows / Linux depending on role)

Maintain an up-to-date asset register and ensure all devices comply with internal security standards

Coordinate repairs, replacements, and hardware upgrades

2. User & Identity Management

Create and manage corporate email accounts (Google Workspace) for all new joiners

Assign and administer software licences across the tool stack: Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and other internal platforms

Manage user access and permissions across all systems — ensuring least-privilege principles are applied consistently

Own the joiners/movers/leavers (JML) process from an IT perspective: timely provisioning and deprovisioning of all accounts and access rights

Maintain accurate, up-to-date user directories and licence inventories

3. Onboarding & Offboarding

Execute the IT component of onboarding for all new hires: workstation setup, account creation, tool access, and first-day readiness

Brief new joiners on IT tools, security practices, and internal procedures

Manage IT offboarding: account suspension, licence recovery, device retrieval, and access revocation — in coordination with HR

Maintain and continuously improve IT onboarding checklists and runbooks

4. Internal IT Support

Serve as the first point of contact for all internal IT support requests across Paris and remote offices

Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner

Manage a ticket queue and maintain SLA-aligned response times

Produce and maintain IT documentation: FAQs, setup guides, and troubleshooting resources

5. Access & Permissions Management

Administer access controls across internal systems, cloud platforms, and SaaS tools

Conduct periodic access reviews and ensure permissions remain aligned with roles and security policies

Support the implementation of SSO, MFA, and MDM solutions as the company scales

Flag and remediate access anomalies proactively

Candidate Profile

Experience

3–6 years of experience in IT support, workplace IT, or systems administration

Proven hands-on experience managing Google Workspace administration (user management, groups, licences, security settings)

Experience managing SaaS tool stacks in a startup or scale-up environment (Slack, Notion, and equivalent)

Solid understanding of IT asset management: procurement, inventory, configuration, and lifecycle tracking

Experience owning onboarding/offboarding IT processes end-to-end

Exposure to IAM principles, MDM solutions (Jamf, Intune, or equivalent), and endpoint security is a strong plus

Experience in a defence, dual-use, or security-sensitive organisation is appreciated

Skills & Qualities

Rigorous and methodical — you maintain clean records, follow processes, and never leave a loose end

Proactive and service-minded: you anticipate IT needs before they become problems

Responsive and reliable — employees trust that their issues will be resolved quickly and professionally

Comfortable working autonomously in a lean environment with broad scope

Discreet and trustworthy — you handle access to sensitive systems and confidential data as a matter of course

Strong communicator: able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical employees

Fluent in French and English
