Data Scientist Junior - MX Auto

Position Summary

We are seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join our analytics team and support data-driven decision-making through analysis, modeling, and reporting. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a solid foundation in statistics and programming, and a desire to grow in machine learning and data-driven problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in gathering, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources

Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies

Build and test statistical and machine learning models under supervision

Support the development of dashboards, reports, and data visualizations

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions

Document methods, assumptions, and results clearly for technical and non-technical audiences

Help monitor model performance and data quality over time

Work with senior team members on ad hoc analysis and special projects

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field

Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and data analysis

Proficiency in Python

Familiarity with SQL and relational databases

Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar

Knowledge of Git and version control workflows

Experience using AI code assistants such as Claude Code or Codex

Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Internship or project experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning

Exposure to machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, etc.

Experience working with cloud platforms or big data tools

Understanding of business metrics and how data supports decision-making
