About the role
BACKEND OPERATIONS EXECUTIVE
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Backend Operations Executive to ensure smooth execution of our marketplace operations. You'll be the operational backbone connecting our Marketplaces Manager, fulfillment teams, vendors, and internal teams. Your job is to ensure every PO ships on time, inventory is always available, fill rates stay high, and promotional offers hit deadlines. You'll own the operational execution that keeps our marketplace business running.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
ORDER & FULFILLMENT MANAGEMENT
- Track all marketplace POs (Purchase Orders) from placement to delivery
- Ensure orders ship on time; identify and resolve delays proactively
- Coordinate with shippers (Blinkit, logistics partners, 3PLs) on pickup, delivery, and exception handling
- Monitor delivery timelines and SLAs; escalate issues before they become problems
- Manage RTO (Return to Origin) / reverse logistics coordination
- Track and report on on-time delivery %, fill rates, and fulfillment metrics
VENDOR & SHIPPER COORDINATION
- Maintain relationships with vendors and fulfillment partners
- Ensure vendor orders are placed, confirmed, and tracked
- Communicate shipment requirements, packaging standards, and delivery deadlines
- Resolve vendor issues: missing inventory, damaged goods, delayed shipments
- Track fill rates across vendors; identify performance issues and work on improvements
- Coordinate COD (Cash on Delivery) settlements and payments with vendors
INVENTORY & STOCK COORDINATION
- Constantly communicate with internal teams (product, warehouse) on stock levels
- Identify inventory gaps before they impact marketplace operations
- Coordinate restocking and warehouse management with internal teams
- Ensure inventory data across Shopify, Blinkit, and marketplace systems is aligned
- Flag low-stock products to leadership; escalate urgent needs
PROMOTIONAL & OFFER EXECUTION
- Track promotional calendar with Marketplaces Manager
- Ensure all discounts, coupons, offers, and promotional codes are submitted to marketplaces on time
- Coordinate with internal teams on promo mechanics, pricing, and offer details
- Verify promotions go live correctly; troubleshoot any issues
- Monitor promo performance and flag any operational issues
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2-4 years in operations, logistics, supply chain, or marketplace fulfillment roles
- Experience with quick-commerce (Blinkit preferred) or online marketplace operations
- Strong coordination and communication skills comfort liaising with multiple teams
- Attention to detail + ability to track multiple timelines simultaneously
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and data tracking (Excel/Sheets proficiency required)
- Problem-solving mindset proactive about identifying and fixing issues before they escalate
- Familiarity with logistics, shipping, and fulfillment processes
- Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
- Tools: Excel, Google Sheets, Shopify (preferred), basic project management tools
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience with D2C or e-commerce fulfillment
- Knowledge of Blinkit, Flipkart, or other marketplace operations
- Familiarity with press-on nails or beauty/personal care category
- Experience with Shipway or similar fulfillment tracking tools
- Understanding of unit economics and metrics (fill rates, RTO %, CAC impact)
