Senior DevOps Engineer

Hays is partnering with a leading Tier 1 mining organisation to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer for a major technology transformation program.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll help build and operate the platforms powering next-generation mining systems — including solutions supporting electric fleets, real-time operations, and advanced analytics. Your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of sustainable and intelligent mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and production-ready, with responsibilities including:

Designing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines

Building and managing containerised platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)

Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

Supporting hybrid environments across cloud (AWS) and on-prem systems

Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks

Driving improvements in performance, scalability, and system resilience

Collaborating with engineers and data teams to deploy new capabilities

Supporting incident response and production troubleshooting

About You

You’re a Senior DevOps or platform engineer with experience working on large-scale, business-critical systems.

Core experience:

6+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering

Strong hands-on expertise with:

Kubernetes & Docker

CI/CD tooling (e.g. GitHub Actions, Octopus, Artifactory)

Terraform (or similar IaC tools)

Solid Linux and systems administration skills

Experience in production-grade environments

Exposure to AWS (EC2, Lambda, or similar)

Scripting experience (Python, Bash)

Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Loki, etc.)

Nice to Have

Experience in high-availability or real-time systems

Exposure to mining, industrial, or operational environments

Experience supporting AI/ML or data platforms in production
