Job Description:

The Role: Entegris is seeking a Senior Applications Manager to lead the WEC Applications Engineering team in Japan, and manage support of critical Semiconductor customers in the region. This position is located at the Entegris – Tokyo, Japan. In this role you will: You will be responsible for leading Japanese applications engineering team focusing on Liquid filtration products used in Wet Etch & Cleans applications for fabrication of semiconductors. The role will involve working across multiple functions such as R&D, Engineering, Quality and Sales. You will work in a very dynamic international environment with a talented team of engineers and scientists. The ideal candidate is an independent thinker that has experience in wet etch and cleans areas of semiconductor manufacturing with a desire to solve challenging, often ambiguously defined, problems. In addition, the candidate must be a team player and a leader, tasked with leading a small team of engineers and/or technicians. Primary Responsibilities: •Lead team of engineers to support business and customer goals while helping mentor and develop the skills/careers of direct reports. •Be a technical expert on filtration utilized for wet clean semiconductor processes, with detailed fundamental understanding of filtration principles and concepts. •Work closely with field teams to engage with customers and represent Entegris as an advanced technical expert on liquid filtration, helping solve complex problems and challenges. •Work in lab environment, help develop new test methods and process to help mimic customer processes and better understanding of filtration mechanisms in complex chemistries and identify the right filtration solution for a given application. •Translate learnings and knowledge from industry into actionable roadmaps and targets for R&D and Engineering teams to target during new product/technology development. •Work closely with Product Marketing to develop product positioning and promotion strategies to help field teams provide customers with the right solution. •Capable of solving problems, internal and external, independently as well as part of a team (member or leader) through rigorous data collection, analysis and disposition. •Lead Application support as part of a cross functional team on customer taskforces to help solve critical customer challenges in a timely manner. •Champion Entegris technology leadership by participating to conferences and publish technical papers. Traits we believe make a strong candidate: •Bachelor’s degree or higher in related technical discipline (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields); •10+ years of experience working in semiconductor industry is required •3+ years of leadership experience, managing engineers and their careers. •Knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering principles (fluid flow, mass transfer and heat transfer) is desired. •Ability to convey ideas and conclusions with data is critical to the role. •Some travel (domestic) should be expected.
