We are seeking an experienced Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting missile system and fire control system design, development, integration, and test.
What You Will Be Doing
A GNC Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, integration, testing, and validation of the algorithms and hardware that enable a vehicle—whether a missile, unmanned aircraft, or manned spacecraft—to determine where it is, where it’s going, and how to get there safely and accurately. The role bridges multidisciplinary domains, combining control theory, aerospace dynamics, hardware modeling, simulation, and system‑level architecture.
The GNC Engineer Ensures That An Air Vehicle Knows Its State, Decides On The Optimal Path, And Executes That Path Reliably Through Robust Guidance Laws, Precise Navigation Filters, Sophisticated Flight‑path Planning, And Stable Autopilot/control Systems—all Validated Through Rigorous Simulation And Flight Testing. This Is Achieved Through Some Combination Of The Following Tasks
Develop guidance law algorithms and verify their performance with high-fidelity simulation and data analysis
Create trajectory-generation tools that produce feasible, optimal paths while accommodating all vehicle hardware and dynamic limitations
Design closed-loop control laws to enable vehicle state manipulation that achieves the commanded mission; generate high fidelity simulations to verify performance
Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
Opportunities will exist to join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on a variety of different programs that are in various stages of product development.
Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.
