About the role
We are looking for a Paralegal to support a legal team on a Contract position based in California. This opportunity is ideal for someone with strong litigation support experience who can help organize complex case materials, manage discovery-related work, and contribute to trial readiness. The role requires a methodical individual who can handle sensitive information carefully while keeping documents accurate, accessible, and well-structured for attorney review.
Responsibilities: • Support discovery efforts by helping prepare responses, assembling production materials, and maintaining accuracy throughout the process. • Examine case records, correspondence, and underlying matter documents to organize materials for legal review, production, and trial preparation. • Sort and classify documents into clear case categories so attorneys can quickly access relevant information for strategy and courtroom use. • Review files for confidential or protected content and assist with appropriate redactions before materials are released. • Maintain oversight of document productions distributed through SharePoint, including tracking status and ensuring records remain organized. • Provide hands-on trial support by assembling exhibit binders, witness binders, and other key case materials needed for hearings and trial. • Build issue-based case files and connect supporting documentation to each topic for efficient legal analysis. • Prepare focused document sets by issue to streamline attorney review and support presentation during trial. • Assist with document control processes such as Bates labeling and production organization for litigation matters. • Previous paralegal experience in litigation environments with direct involvement in discovery, document review, productions, and trial preparation. • Demonstrated background preparing trial materials such as exhibit binders, witness binders, issue files, and organized document sets. • Ability to recognize potentially privileged or protected communications and support redaction workflows with sound judgment. • Strong organizational skills with experience managing large volumes of case documents in a structured and accurate manner. • Working knowledge of SharePoint and familiarity with document production practices, including Bates numbering. • Experience supporting civil litigation matters; exposure to legal malpractice cases or closely related matters is preferred. • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys and case teams under deadlines.
