About the role

Overview

A global, family-owned enterprise with a strong presence in manufacturing and diversified holdings is seeking a Security Engineer to join its growing team. This is a newly created role driven by continued expansion and increased focus on security operations.

This individual will report to the Director of Information Security and collaborate closely with both internal security engineers and an affiliated security team. The role offers a blend of hands-on security operations, project work, and broader IT support responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and events across the environment

Support daily SOC operations, including triaging alerts and coordinating incident response

Perform log analysis and leverage SIEM tools to identify and mitigate risks

Conduct system audits and health checks to ensure security tools and controls are functioning effectively

Assist in the implementation and optimization of new security technologies and controls

Manage and follow up on security incidents, including coordination with third-party vendors

Track and report on security metrics (e.g., phishing attempts, endpoint protection status)

Contribute to ongoing security projects and initiatives

Provide support across IT functions, including:

Network management

Software and email support

Identity and access management

Technical Environment

Proofpoint

Microsoft Defender / Microsoft 365 Security Suite

Rapid7 (vulnerability management)

Cisco Meraki

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in an Information Security or Security Administration role

Hands-on experience with SIEM tools and log analysis

Strong experience within Microsoft environments (Microsoft 365, security tools, etc.)

Experience with Rapid7, Splunk, or similar platforms

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and timelines effectively

Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field
