About the role

About Us:

Fuse Energy is a forward-thinking renewable energy startup on a mission to deliver a terawatt of renewable energy - fast. We're combining first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We raised $170M from top-tier investors including Multicoin, Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, Box Group and strategic angels like Nico Rosberg, the Co-Founder of Solana and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify, Uber and more.

We're creating a fully integrated energy company: from developing solar, wind and hydrogen projects to real-time power trading and distributed energy installations. By selling directly to consumers, we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass on savings to customers.

But we're not stopping there. We're also building the Energy Network: a decentralised platform of smart devices that rewards users in Energy Dollars for electrifying their homes, shifting usage to off-peak hours, and helping balance the grid. This network strengthens grid stability - a critical foundation for scaling AI data centers and other energy-intensive industries.

Purpose:

The QA/QC Engineer will lead and embed a best-in-class QA/QC function across Fuse's UK construction portfolio, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery from design through to commissioning and handover.

This role is responsible for building and implementing robust quality management systems, driving standards across all EPC activities, and ensuring full traceability, compliance, and defect-free delivery. The position will act as the central authority on quality across projects, working cross-functionally with engineering, construction, and operations to ensure assets are delivered to the highest standard and fully de-risked at handover.

This position reports to the QHSE Manager.

Responsibilities we will trust you with:

QA/QC Delivery (Project Lifecycle)

Own QA/QC documentation from design through commissioning

Ensure all works are delivered in line with specifications, standards, and contractual requirements

Support engineering and construction teams in embedding quality into design, procurement, and installation phases

Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs) are developed, implemented, and adhered to

Site Inspections & Snagging

Perform routine site inspections, surveillances, and structured walkdowns across projects

Lead the full snagging process — identification, tracking, and close-out of defects

Ensure timely resolution of non-conformances and drive accountability across contractors

Provide clear reporting on quality performance, risks, and issue resolution

Document Control & Data Integrity

Develop and manage the EPC document control system across all projects

Ensure accurate version control, traceability, and auditability of all project documentation

Manage the control and verification of installation drawings, cable schedules, and as-built documentation

Ensure alignment between design, construction, and final documentation sets

Handover & Turnover

Compile and manage project turnover packs to support seamless handover to O&M

Ensure all documentation, test records, and certifications are complete and compliant

Act as key interface between EPC and O&M to ensure quality continuity post-handover

Compliance & Assurance

Ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements

Conduct internal audits and support external audits where required

Lead root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective/preventative actions (CAPA)

Track and report key quality KPIs across the portfolio

Stakeholder Management

Work closely with Engineering, Construction, and O&M teams to align on quality expectations

Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and third parties on quality performance

Act as the escalation point for quality-related issues across projects

Requirements

Your areas of knowledge and expertise:

Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline

5+ years' experience in QA/QC or Quality Engineering within projects

Experience within energy, renewables, or utilities is highly advantageous

Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001) and their practical implementation

Experience developing and managing ITPs, inspection regimes, and QA/QC documentation

Strong knowledge of document control systems and processes within EPC environments

Experience managing snagging, non-conformances, and defect resolution processes

Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capability

Familiarity with UK regulatory and construction standards is preferred

As a person:

Extremely detail-oriented with a zero-compromise approach to quality

High ownership and accountability in fast-paced project environments

Strong communicator with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders

Structured and process-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset

Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable operating across multiple projects simultaneously
