The Senior HV Battery Technician is a hands-on technical expert responsible for the advanced assembly, testing, diagnostics, and field support of high-voltage (HV) battery systems. This role spans prototype build, validation, and field issue resolution, requiring strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead assembly and teardown of HV battery modules and packs, including cell integration, busbar and coolant systems, enclosure sealing, and diagnostic inspection.

Support validation and lifecycle tests, operating automation systems, CAN-based tools, and electrical diagnostic equipment.

Analyze test data, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide feedback to engineering for design and process improvements.

Investigate and resolve high-priority HV battery concerns, supporting R&D teams.

Collaborate with engineering teams on battery related projects.

Mentor and train junior technicians, driving adherence to safety and best practices.

Identify and implement improvements across build and test processes to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in automotive, EV, or HV battery systems as a technician.

Associate’s degree in a technical field, ASE certification, or equivalent experience.

Proficiency in HV battery assembly, electrical diagnostics, CAN communication, and safe handling practices.

High voltage certification strongly preferred.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and technical reporting skills.

Ability to work independently, mentor peers, and interface cross-functionally.

Flexible to work varied shifts and travel up to ~20%.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and technical reporting tools.
