About Patent Awards

For more than 33 years, Patent Awards has specialized in recognizing innovation through custom Intellectual Property awards and services for corporations, law firms, universities, and inventors around the world. Our products celebrate the ideas, patents, and achievements that help shape industries and improve lives.

As a small, family-oriented business with a global customer base, we combine craftsmanship, creativity, and exceptional customer service to deliver meaningful recognition experiences. We take pride in producing high-quality awards using a variety of materials and fabrication techniques, while continually seeking new ways to improve our products and services.

At Patent Awards, we value teamwork, open communication, continuous improvement, personal accountability, and a willingness to embrace new ideas. Every member of our team plays an important role in helping us deliver exceptional products and experiences to our customers.

Unlike many larger organizations, our employees have the opportunity to make a visible impact. Ideas are welcomed, creativity is encouraged, and team members often contribute across multiple areas of the business. We believe the best solutions come from people who are willing to learn, collaborate, and take ownership of their work. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to see your work move from concept to finished product while helping shape how our company presents itself and serves customers around the world.

About The Role

We are looking for a proactive and versatile Product & Brand Designer who enjoys both digital and physical creation. This role blends marketing design, custom client artwork, product development, and the creation of sales tools that help our products and services stand out.

You’ll design everything from product sell sheets, brochures, catalogs, and social media graphics to custom proofs and new product concepts, while also having the opportunity to test and refine those ideas using our in-house equipment and fabrication processes.

Beyond executing requested projects, we’re looking for someone who can identify opportunities, improve how we communicate visually, and take ownership of developing creative assets that support our sales team and overall business growth.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, creative ownership, problem-solving, and the opportunity to work beyond the screen in a customer-focused small business environment.

Key Responsibilities

Brand, Marketing & Sales Support

Create sales tools and visual assets that clearly communicate product options, materials, features, and capabilities

Help improve how products and services are visually presented across marketing and sales channels

Design and maintain product sell sheets, brochures, flyers, catalogs, social media graphics, and other customer-facing marketing materials

Maintain visual consistency across branding, marketing, and product presentation materials

Custom Artwork & Customer Proofing

Create custom artwork, proofs, mockups, and layout concepts based on customer requests

Prepare clean vector artwork and organized production files for manufacturing

Manage revision-based custom work while maintaining quality, accuracy, and attention to detail

Product Design & Development

Refresh and evolve existing product offerings into new styles, applications, and configurations

Develop new product concepts using available materials, fabrication methods, and production capabilities

Design with manufacturing in mind, balancing creativity with production realities and material constraints

Collaboration & Production Awareness

Work closely with production to ensure designs translate effectively into finished products

Gain hands-on familiarity with fabrication processes including UV printing, laser etching, and sandblasting

Participate in prototyping, testing, and sample creation as needed

Contribute ideas and identify opportunities to improve visual communication, product presentation, and workflow efficiency

Someone who can balance creativity with real-world constraints including materials, production methods, timelines, and business needs

Interest in physical products, materials, fabrication processes, and how things are made

Strong attention to detail, organization, and consistency across multiple projects and deliverables

Someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and switching between marketing, product, and customer design work as needs arise

A collaborative mindset with a willingness to contribute ideas, solve problems, and support both marketing and product efforts

Someone who enjoys figuring things out, improving systems, and building better ways to present products and ideas
