JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will provide strategic direction and leadership to a team of Manufacturing Engineers supporting the production of RF coils. This role will lead and champion the investigation, proposal, planning and implementing capital equipment, manufacturing technology and AI systems. This individual will serve as a key partner with manufacturing, Engineering, QA/RA, Procurement, and Product Development to improve manufacturing performance, product quality and lead the advancement of automation to streamline the manufacturing process.

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Lead a Manufacturing Engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving manufacturing/repair operations by way of improvements in people, process, equipment and tools

Drive a culture of continuous growth within the Manufacturing Engineering team as lead practitioners of process technology and excellence

Responsible for assigning and overseeing Manufacturing Engineering resources and assets to work in collaboration with plant, engineering and quality personnel to accomplish business initiatives such as manufacturing process, technology and NPI deployment

Manufacturing Excellence and Continuous Improvement

Work collaboratively with peers, supervisors and associates of all levels to ensure that appropriate coaching and technical support is being provided in all areas of the organization to meet business and associate development needs

Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and QA/RA teams to identify opportunities to simplify product designs, improve manufacturability, reduce variation, production defects, and improve overall product quality.

Lead challenging cross-functional projects and initiatives to deliver to business needs

Lead the cross-functional committee responsible for material and product obsolescence

Responsible for organizing and supervising a portfolio of operations improvement projects and programs run by team members of Manufacturing Engineering

Be the subject matter expert in process validation and provide coaching to cross functional members and staff

Set Manufacturing Engineering team goals to support and lead the organization through new technology and process improvement aligned with business expectations and strategic initiatives

Technology and Automation Advancement

Champion the organization's transition toward increased automation and smart manufacturing technologies

Evaluate, justify, and implement automation solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and throughput

Develop and maintain familiarity with RF coil technology as well as manufacturing/repair industry trends, including new equipment, process technology and manufacturing/repair methodologies

Contributes and leads in the socialization, adoption and utilization of AI tools and interacting technology

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop long-term manufacturing technology roadmaps

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field);

15+ years of progressive engineering experience in manufacturing environments, with 5+ years in leadership roles.

Skills and Abilities

Required

Manufacturing Process Control Expertise (manufacturing value stream, process flow, control plan tools, etc.)

Prior leadership experience managing engineers, technical teams, or engineering projects.

Ability to work with drive change across intersecting departments (Quality Assurance, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing)

Demonstrated success in implementing automation, robotics, and digital manufacturing platforms.

Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives across multiple operational areas.

Strong portfolio/project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication abilities.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Skills in MS Office, Outlook, Internet, PLM Systems, etc.

Preferred

Experience in medical device, electronics, electromechanical assembly, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.

Experience implementing automation, robotics, or digital manufacturing

Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Project Management certifications.

Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up efforts.

Familiar with medical device engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and repair operations

Experience w/ Oracle Agile PLM System
