1. Front-End Web Developer/Engineer (FE)Position Summary

The Front-End Web Developer/Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining user-facing web applications and websites that provide an accessible, responsive, and intuitive digital experience. The role collaborates with UX designers, content strategists, back-end developers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality web solutions that comply with State of California accessibility standards and modern web development practices.

Key Responsibilities

Develop responsive web applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks.

Build and customize WordPress themes and templates.

Convert Figma, Adobe XD, and Photoshop designs into production-ready web interfaces.

Integrate front-end applications with RESTful APIs and back-end services.

Ensure compliance with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements.

Implement responsive and mobile-first design principles.

Participate in Agile/Scrum development teams.

Utilize version control systems such as Git.

Perform testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

Collaborate with UI/UX designers, content designers, and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications (MQ)

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum four (4) years of front-end web development experience within the last six years.

Experience with:

HTML5

CSS3

JavaScript

Responsive Web Design

WordPress theme development

RESTful APIs

Version Control Systems (Git)

Team-based software development methodologies

Experience ensuring Section 508 accessibility compliance.

Minimum one (1) year supporting a State of California IT project of similar size and complexity.

Desired Qualifications (DQ)

Two or more consecutive years of advanced HTML and CSS experience.

Experience with:

React

2. Back-End Web Developer/Engineer (BE)Position Summary

The Back-End Web Developer/Engineer designs, develops, and maintains server-side applications, integrations, APIs, databases, and content management systems supporting enterprise web platforms. The position ensures scalability, security, performance, and maintainability of web applications while supporting State of California digital service initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop server-side web applications and services.

Build APIs and integration services.

Develop and maintain WordPress back-end functionality.

Implement database design, management, and optimization.

Ensure application security and session management.

Develop and support cloud-based and enterprise web architectures.

Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions.

Participate in code reviews and DevOps processes.

Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities.

The Content Designer is responsible for planning, creating, organizing, and optimizing digital content that improves user experience, accessibility, and information architecture across public-facing websites and applications. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain website content strategies.

Pay: $79,031.00 - $102,225.00 per year
