Position Summary
We are looking for a Technical Account Manager to join our growing commercial team. This role is responsible for expanding business with new customers while strengthening relationships with existing accounts. The ideal candidate combines strong sales skills with technical aptitude and enjoys working closely with customers to identify solutions that meet operational and production goals.
This position serves as a primary point of contact throughout the customer journey, from initial discovery and proposal development through project implementation and post-sale support.
What You'll Do
Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and market research.
Develop strategic relationships with existing customers to support retention and identify additional sales opportunities.
Manage the full sales cycle, including lead qualification, proposal preparation, pricing discussions, negotiations, and closing activities.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and service teams to develop customized technical solutions.
Assist in creating and maintaining machine and tooling specifications that align with customer requirements.
Coordinate customer visits, equipment demonstrations, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
Provide responsive support for customer inquiries, quotations, order status updates, and project follow-through.
Maintain accurate customer information, pipeline activity, forecasts, and sales metrics within CRM systems.
Monitor market trends and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and support business planning efforts.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related discipline; OR equivalent experience in technical sales.
At least four years of experience selling technical products, industrial equipment, machinery, or engineering-based solutions.
Proven ability to develop new business and grow customer accounts.
Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management abilities.
Preferred
Experience within manufacturing, automation, packaging, converting, or capital equipment industries.
Familiarity with CRM software and sales pipeline management tools.
Salesforce experience.
Ability to understand customer technical requirements and communicate solution value effectively.
Experience with forecasting, account planning, and strategic territory development.
