About Xata
Xata is building Postgres for agentic workloads.
As AI agents become software's newest users, they need isolated environments to experiment, test, and execute safely. We enable companies to create Postgres branches instantly, giving every agent its own environment with production-like data, without multiplying infrastructure costs or operational complexity.
We are a fully remote company of ~25 people across Europe and the US. As we grow, we're looking for a People Operations & Talent Lead to help us attract exceptional talent and build the systems, processes, and culture that allow great people to do their best work.
The Role
You will own both recruiting and people operations at Xata.
On the talent side, you'll help us identify, attract, and close exceptional candidates across engineering, product, go-to-market, and leadership roles. You'll work closely with hiring managers to continuously improve our hiring process and candidate experience.
On the people operations side, you'll help build a world-class employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle—from onboarding and performance processes to compensation reviews, benefits, compliance, and team development.
This is a highly autonomous role with significant ownership. We're looking for someone who enjoys building systems from scratch, improving how organizations operate, and helping teams scale while maintaining a strong culture.
About You
Significant experience in recruiting, people operations, or talent leadership roles within technology companies.
Strong track record of hiring exceptional talent, particularly for technical roles.
Experience managing the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, compensation, and offboarding.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment with a high degree of ownership.
Highly self-directed and proactive. You don't wait to be told what to do—you identify opportunities, propose solutions, and drive them to completion.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Experience supporting distributed teams across multiple countries is a plus.
