Entry Level CAD Technician

GFT is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Entry Level CAD Technician to join our Water group in Pittsburgh, State College, Mechanicsburg, or Audubon, PA. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring at least three days of onsite office attendance on a weekly basis.

What you’ll be challenged to do:

The Entry Level CAD Technician is responsible for creating accurate technical drawings and plans to support a variety of engineering projects. This role involves working closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality work that meets project specifications and industry standards.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Develop detailed technical drawings and plans for water/wastewater infrastructure projects.

Collect and analyze field data to support the design and development of project plans.

Utilize advanced CADD software to produce construction documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.

Collaborate with engineers and other design team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

Interpret and apply design manuals, guidelines, and standards, with support and review from senior staff as needed.

What you will bring to our firm:

Associate’s degree in CADD Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering or a related field.

0-3 years of relevant experience in civil, infrastructure or water projects.

Demonstrated interest in civil, infrastructure or water design through prior internships, work experiences, or applied academic coursework.

Proficiency in CADD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit.

Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

What we prefer you bring:

Prior working experience with ArcGIS and AutoCAD.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $80,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
