About the role
Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing behavioral health team. This position focuses on providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing treatment services to children and adolescents in an outpatient community mental health setting.
The ideal candidate is passionate about improving mental health outcomes for youth and families and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Essential Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
Diagnose and treat a variety of mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma-related disorders, mood disorders, and behavioral concerns.
Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, therapists, case managers, and other providers.
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate.
Provide medication education to patients and families.
Complete clinical documentation, treatment plans, and progress notes in a timely manner.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Maintain compliance with organizational, state, and federal regulations.
Coordinate care with primary care providers, schools, community agencies, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Current and unrestricted Michigan PMHNP license/certification.
Current DEA registration and Michigan controlled substance license (or ability to obtain).
Experience treating children and adolescents.
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and medication management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred:
Community mental health experience.
Experience working with underserved populations.
