Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Well Coast Medical is seeking committed, qualified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to treat children, adolescents and adults in the San Francisco Bay Area and online throughout California. Duties and Responsibilities:

Taking complete medical history and psychiatric history

Diagnosing and treating mental health conditions using evidence based practice, including medication management and brief psychotherapy.

Collaborating with patients and care team to develop personalized comprehensive treatment plans.

Creating an effective and ongoing therapeutic relationship with patients and families.

Developing cooperative relationships with client therapists and primary care physicians regarding mental health status and treatment.

Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in EHR for all patient care, complying with insurance requirements and in accordance with current ethical and legal standards.

Independently ordering and interpreting laboratory reports and diagnostic imaging reports.

Facilitating crisis interventions when appropriate

Required Credentialing, Knowledge and Skills:

Current California license and board certified (if applicable), current California DEA. Pre-employment background check required.

At least 1 year experience in psychiatry preferred. Experience treating ADHD is a plus but not required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team with other mental health providers including therapists, psychiatrists, PMHNPs and PAs.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be sensitive with persons of diverse social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.

Compliance with electronic medical records management procedures, including applicable HIPAA practices. Experience with CharmHealth EHR a plus.

This position is a hybrid position, but the schedule may be negotiable. There will be some in-person appointments in our downtown San Francisco office, but the majority of appointments may be done by telehealth.
