Overview of the Lead Associate, Product Engineering

This role is an individual contributor role responsible for supporting production data operations, troubleshooting application and data issues, and delivering accurate, timely outputs for internal and external clients. This role works closely with product, technology, operations, and business partners to process data, validate quality, support automation, and help execute project and client requirements within established processes and controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment that requires strong execution, collaboration, and responsiveness during peak business periods.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Lead Associate, Product Engineering

Process, normalize, and load production data received from partners, regulatory bodies, and companies into the Mediant database, and support downstream data extraction to print partners and data warehouses.

Troubleshoot and resolve production application, data, and workflow issues in a timely manner.

Perform data quality reviews using automated validations, edit checks, and established production controls.

Develop ad hoc reports and queries of moderate complexity using SQL to support operational and business needs.

Gather business and technical requirements and support the development of custom data solutions for new business requests and one-time processing needs.

Partner with business users, operations teams, and technology teams to support project execution and solution delivery.

Support automation design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Follow established change, incident, and release management processes and maintain compliance with production standards, including ISO and SOC controls.

Provide production support during peak periods, including proxy season, which may require after-hours or weekend availability.

Communicate project and production status updates to the Data Services Manager and other stakeholders as needed.

Participate effectively in team meetings, project discussions, and operational reviews.

Hybrid work schedule: 2 days per week in-office; quarterly schedules assigned by managers (subject to change)

Skills and Experience of the Lead Associate, Product Engineering

6+ years of relevant experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

Strong SQL query reading, writing, and execution skills.

Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel.

Experience with Mage.ai or similar data pipeline orchestration tools.

Working knowledge of VBA scripting, ETL tools such as Monarch, and secure file transfer tools such as WinSCP or FileZilla.

Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining data accuracy.

Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
