This role requires eligibility for a government security clearance (CAT 1) and, due to project requirements, is open only to Singapore Citizens.

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer to support the development and maintenance of enterprise-level Java applications. This role involves working closely with team members to design, build, enhance, and support software solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in Java technologies, is willing to learn industry best practices, and is keen to build a career in enterprise application development.

Roles and Responsibilities

Support the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise Java applications across the SDLC

Assist in enhancing existing applications to improve performance and stability

Participate in system integration testing and help troubleshoot application issues

Perform unit testing using standard testing frameworks

Work with team members to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements

Create and maintain technical documentation

Follow development standards and best practices

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computing, IT, or a related field

Hands-on knowledge and experience in Java programming

Understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP)

Knowledge and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL)

Familiarity with REST APIs or web services is an advantage

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Understanding and exposure to the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Able to work both independently and in a team

Good communication skills

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Good to Have

Exposure to Spring / Spring Boot

Basic knowledge of unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit)

Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies

Internship or academic project experience in Java development
