About the role
We’re looking for a Mid-level Software Engineer to join a team in Belfast, working on a high-scale digital platform that supports millions of bookings and transactions every year.
You’ll work within a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team, taking ownership of features and technical initiatives that directly shape the platform and the customers who rely on it.
What you’ll be doing:
Design, develop and maintain scalable, production-grade backend systems and APIs
Build and enhance services that power web and mobile applications
Contribute to system architecture and technical design discussions
Write high-quality code backed by automated testing
Support platform reliability, performance, security and observability
Collaborate across Product, QA, DevOps and engineering
Participate in code reviews and help raise engineering standards
What we’re looking for:
3+ years of professional software development experience
Strong backend development skills using modern languages and frameworks
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
Experience with cloud-based or distributed environments
Comfortable writing automated tests and working within CI/CD pipelines
Strong problem-solving skills and clear communicator
Nice to have:
Experience on high-availability, transaction-based systems
Payments or financial transaction processing background
Third-party API integration experience
Exposure to microservices or event-driven architectures
Experience modernising legacy systems
Agile delivery environment experience
