Senior Compliance Manager – Data, Personal Data & Compliance Risks
Join a leading financial market infrastructure organisation committed to secure and efficient global securities transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to play a key role in strengthening the compliance framework, with a focus on data protection and personal data risk.
In this role, you will help design, implement, and maintain a robust, risk-based compliance programme. You will provide independent oversight and practical guidance on compliance risks, particularly in relation to GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Acting as a trusted adviser, you will support governance forums, enhance internal controls, and promote a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance and challenge on compliance risk management
Conduct compliance monitoring in line with the compliance plan
Support the ongoing development and effectiveness of the compliance framework
Produce clear management information and risk reports
Assist with implementation of regulatory changes and control improvements
Contribute to governance forums and stakeholder updates
Review policies, procedures, and training materials
Support engagement with regulators and internal stakeholders
Assist the Data Protection Officer with GDPR compliance activities
Skills & Experience
Strong experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory advisory within financial services
In-depth knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, Bank of England)
Solid understanding of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them practically
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Proactive and adaptable approach in a changing regulatory environment
Desirable
Familiarity with international market regulations and standards
Experience supporting Data Protection Officers
Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CIPP, CIPM, CISA)
Background
Degree in a relevant discipline; professional qualifications advantageous
Around 5+ years’ experience in compliance or risk within financial services
