About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Consultant – Data Transformation Analyst to bridge the gap between source systems and business-ready analytics data. This role is responsible for defining, designing, and implementing transformation logic across the Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of a modern Medallion Architecture.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL development, data warehousing, data transformation, and business rule implementation. As a Senior Consultant, you will independently lead transformation workstreams, resolve data ambiguities, collaborate with stakeholders, and translate complex business requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.

You will work closely with Architects, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Business Stakeholders to ensure data is accurately transformed, validated, and optimized for reporting and analytics.

Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & Transformation

Profile and analyze source system data (Bronze Layer) to assess data quality, business keys, relationships, and change data capture (CDC) requirements.

Design and implement transformation logic across Silver and Gold layers using efficient, scalable SQL solutions.

Develop production-grade T-SQL/PL-SQL code including:

Stored Procedures

Views

Common Table Expressions (CTEs)

Functions

Incremental Load Patterns

Translate complex business rules into structured transformation logic aligned with business requirements.

Data Validation & Quality Assurance

Design and execute data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks throughout the transformation lifecycle.

Verify that transformation outputs accurately reflect business intent and reporting requirements.

Investigate and resolve data quality issues by identifying whether problems originate from source systems or transformation logic.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and completeness across all transformation layers.

Stakeholder Engagement & Consulting

Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and validate transformation specifications.

Facilitate discussions to resolve conflicting business rules and data interpretation challenges.

Clearly communicate data findings, trade-offs, assumptions, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Drive decision-making by presenting analytical insights and transformation impacts.

Data Engineering & Platform Collaboration

Support ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data transformation frameworks.

Collaborate with Data Engineers on:

Data ingestion strategies

Pipeline orchestration

Deployment processes

Data platform optimization

Contribute to reusable and scalable transformation frameworks aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

Leadership & Mentorship

Lead transformation workstreams independently.

Mentor junior consultants and developers on SQL best practices, coding standards, and transformation methodologies.

Promote continuous improvement in data transformation and validation processes.

6+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development and data transformation projects.

Expert-level proficiency in:

Experience with large-scale data migration, integration, and source system retirement projects.

Performance Optimization

SQL query tuning and optimization expertise.

Ability to optimize transformations on large-scale datasets.

Cloud & Modern Data Platforms

Experience working with modern cloud data ecosystems.

Understanding of analytics-focused cloud data architectures and transformation frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in enterprise-scale Data Integration and Data Migration programs.

Exposure to modern ELT frameworks and cloud-native analytics platforms.

Experience working with distributed teams and Agile delivery methodologies.

Strong consulting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to lead workshops and data discovery sessions with business users.
