Averton is seeking an experienced construction professional to join our project delivery leadership team as a Senior Project Manager.

REPORTS TO: Project Director

CORE ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible for ensuring that the plan works and measuring success throughout project execution. This role exists to ensure that projects transition smoothly from concept to construction by identifying risk early, validating assumptions and creating alignment between all project stakeholders.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Leadership & Delivery

Support the Project Director in advancing and coordinating assigned projects through all stages of development and construction

Coordinate activities between Design, Estimating, Construction, Sales, Accounting and Warranty

Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies

Monitor project performance against budget, schedule, quality and project objectives anad provide recommendations to the Project Director

Facilitate project readiness reviews on behalf of the Project Director

Preconstruction Leadership

Review drawings, engineering documents, consultant reports, and project documentation.

Lead constructability reviews and identify execution risks

Validate project assumptions before construction begins

Ensure procurement requirements and long-lead items are identified early

Participate in value engineering exercises

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and strengthen project outcomes

Assist in development and maintenance of project schedules

Estimating & Cost Alignment

Assist with major trade reviews and procurement strategy

Identify scope gaps, estimate risks and cost exposures

Review project budgets and monitor cost performance throughout the project lifecycle

Support change order review and approval processes

Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and project objectives

Construction Support

Conduct regular site visits to monitor project performance

Evaluate site progress against schedule, budget, and project objectives

Work alongside the Construction Manager to identify and resolve issues affecting project performance

Monitor site cleanliness, organization, safety, and adherence to Averton standards

Support coordination between site teams and office teams

Escalate issues before they impact budget, schedule, quality, or customer experience

Design & Product Development

Participate in drawing reviews with the Design Manager and drafting team

Review plans and details for constructability, efficiency and cost implications

Provide feedback on new products, materials, methods and industry trends

Support ongoing product improvement initiatives

Coordinate revisions and updates to Schedule A documents as required

Sales, Customer & Warranty Integration

Support Sales and Marketing teams by ensuring project documentation and contract requirements remain aligned with project objectives

Participate in project walkthroughs as required

Work alongside Warranty and Service teams to identify recurring deficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement

Ensure lessons learned from completed projects are incorporated into future projects

Organizational Leadership

Provide mentorship and support to design, estimating, construction and coordination teams

Participate in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures

Promote accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement throughout the organization

Act as an ambassador of Averton's culture, values and standards

Maintain active industry relationships and remain current on market trends, materials, pricing and construction practices

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is highly organized, resourceful, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

They are comfortable working independently, communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders and following through on tasks without requiring significant supervision. Most importantly, they are someone who sees something that needs to be done and takes ownership of making sure it happens.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

8+ years of residential, multifamily, commercial, or mixed-use construction experience

Strong understanding of estimating, procurement, construction operations and project delivery

Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical drawings

Strong understanding of project budgeting and cost control

Experience leading projects from preconstruction through completion

Excellent communication and leadership skills

High attention to detail and strong organizational ability

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software

Valid driver's license and vehicle and ability to travel between project sites
