Graphic Designer

Stiff is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team. You’ll work across a wide range of projects including websites, brand systems, layout and campaign work for clients globally. You’ll contribute creative thinking in client and team meetings and manage projects from concept through delivery. We move fast, value clarity and craft, with a focus on producing work that matters. The ideal candidate is a strong visual thinker, pays close attention to detail, contributes ideas to internal and client meetings, plans design projects and manages multiple priorities at once. The employment contract will be for 1 year, with an optional extension period.

Responsibilities

Develop brands and supporting assets that capture the brand’s value in a unified visual system.

Produce layouts that are precise, compositionally interesting and enhance the reader’s experience.

Manage day-to-day communications with clients and staff.

Meet with clients to understand their project needs, ideas and expectations.

Assist in project scoping and writing of design briefs that fit clients’ budget and needs.

Lead creative tasks on large- and small-scale projects, including presentations, layouts, websites and social media.

Write and plan effective design-oriented proposals.

Communicate routinely with clients.

Work closely and collaboratively with other designers and cross-functional teams, including strategy and writing.

Follow and develop brand guidelines to ensure consistency across brand products.

Use your knowledge of design and user experience to convey design recommendations in a productive manner and interpret feedback to design iteratively.

Exercise strong judgment and project management skills to balance priorities and communicate with clients and team members.

Further develop your skillset via personal education and skills development.

Qualifications

Five or more years’ graphic design (or related) experience, preferably in an agency environment.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain conceptual thinking clearly and effectively.

Superior skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).

Advanced capabilities in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, specifically the creation of robust templates and trouble-shooting issues.

Knowledge of Asana, Slack and Toggl.

Curiosity and enthusiasm to explore and learn new creative digital platforms.

Experience working on large-scale web projects, with an understanding of UX and UI.

Confidence working in a fast-paced, high-output environment, with the ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.

Excellent collaborative skills and experience working in a team environment, with the ability to convey recommendations in a productive manner and apply constructive feedback to projects.

Ability to help us nurture a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability.

Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
