Tiro Partners is supporting an award-winning Series-A startup developing cutting-edge solutions across cloud platforms, AI & computer vision, embedded systems, electronics, and data science

We’re now looking for a Backend Engineer with strong Node.js experience to join our growing engineering team in Central London.

💻 What You’ll Be Working On:

• Building scalable, high-performance backend services using Node.js

• Supporting our transition from Java to Node.js

• Designing and maintaining RESTful APIs

• Optimising PostgreSQL databases and SQL performance

• Debugging and improving existing backend systems

• Writing unit and integration tests to ensure reliability

• Performance profiling and stress testing

• Collaborating with API, client app, and data pipeline teams

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js backend development

• Solid PostgreSQL and relational database knowledge

• Experience designing scalable RESTful APIs

• Strong debugging and performance optimisation skills

• Experience with Git and code reviews

• Excellent communication skills

⭐ Bonus Skills:

• Java experience

• Docker & Kubernetes

• CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar)

• GraphQL

• TDD and software design patterns
