Job Purpose
To identify, approach, negotiate with, and appoint high-volume distributors and super-stockists across assigned territories. The primary objective is to the company's distributor network and establish strong channel partnerships in new markets.
Key Responsibilities
Identify potential distributors, super-stockists, and large electrical wholesalers in target markets.
Develop a pipeline of qualified distributor prospects.
Conduct meetings with distributor owners and decision-makers.
Present company profile, product portfolio, pricing, margins, and business opportunities.
Negotiate commercial terms and finalize distributor agreements.
Appoint new distributors as per monthly and quarterly targets.
Analyze market potential and identify gaps in distributor coverage.
Maintain a database of prospective distributors and follow up regularly.
Coordinate onboarding, initial stock orders, and launch activities.
Gather market intelligence regarding competitor distributor networks.
Travel extensively to electrical wholesale markets and distribution hubs.
Required Experience
5+ years of experience in distributor development or channel expansion.
Strong network within electrical, fan, lighting, appliance, or consumer durable distribution channels.
Proven track record of appointing distributors and expanding market coverage.
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Number of new distributors appointed per month.
Value of opening orders generated.
Geographic expansion achieved.
Distributor activation rate.
First 90-day sales performance of newly appointed distributors.
