Automation Design Engineer

Dallas Design & Technology, Inc. is a small firm specializing in all phases in custom automation with strong emphasis on robotic assembly cells.

The company is located in Lexington, Ohio between Cleveland and Columbus. Our customer list is representative of a variety of industries including consumer goods, automotive, pharmaceuticals and machine tool manufacturers.

Education Level: two- or four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or relevant experience will be considered. Aptitude is paramount.

Essential Functions

· conceptualize and provide solutions to automation projects

· serve on team to visit potential customers, quote new business and develop concept and initial drawings

· manage the design workflow and produce accurate drawings in a timely manner

· serve as member of project team and lend assistance on the shop floor with fabricating, assembly, wiring and test/debug

This position has the potential to grow in authority and responsibility as the individual learns and understands the company’s objectives and its customers. The only limit on the individual’s responsibility is the limit of the individual.

Experience

Five to 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry is desired – should be a “hands-on” engineer with experience from conceptualization through fabrication, assembly, debug and finally delivery of a machine.

· Background in robotics, machine tools, PLCs, electrical, pneumatics and hydraulics is strongly desired

· Problem solver with the ability to trouble shoot

· Able to handle multiple deadlines and simultaneous tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
