RBT Trainee (Paraprofessional Experience Preferred)

Position Overview

Applied Behavior Strategies is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and professional RBT Trainee to work with children receiving Applied Behavior Analysis services in our clinic.

This position is appropriate for someone who is interested in becoming a Registered Behavior Technician and developing a career in Applied Behavior Analysis, special education, psychology, child development, or a related helping profession.

Previous experience as a Special Needs Paraprofessional, paraprofessional, classroom aide, behavioral aide, autism support professional, childcare professional, or direct support professional is beneficial. However, RBT certification and prior ABA experience are not required for the right candidate.

The selected candidate will receive training and support while learning to provide services under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Primary Responsibilities

Work individually with children receiving ABA services.

Follow written treatment plans and behavior-support procedures.

Implement teaching programs as directed by the supervising clinician.

Collect accurate data during sessions.

Prepare materials and organize the treatment environment.

Maintain the learner’s dignity, privacy, and safety.

Accept coaching and apply supervisory feedback.

Communicate professionally with supervisors and other team members.

Maintain treatment-plan fidelity

Help maintain a calm, organized, and supportive clinic atmosphere.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Special Needs Paraprofessional or special education paraprofessional.

Experience supporting children with autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral needs, or communication challenges.

Completion of, or current enrollment in, the 40-hour RBT training course.

Coursework in psychology, education, special education, social work, speech and language, occupational therapy, or child development.

Experience in a school, clinic, daycare, therapy, or special-needs setting.

Interest in intentionally pursuing RBT certification and developing skills in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Training and Certification

The selected candidate will receive training related to:

RBT responsibilities and professional expectations.

Implementation of ABA treatment programs.

Data collection and documentation.

Behavior-support procedures.

Client dignity and confidentiality.

Clinic safety and professional conduct.

Receiving feedback and working under BCBA supervision.

Pay: Up to $24.00 per hour
