Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary Renovo Counseling Services is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to contract with a growing group psychotherapy practice. In this role, the contractor will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients in a hybrid(in-person/virtual format based on patient demand. This practice provides treatment to a wide variety of patients whose needs align with the provider's training and experience, however there is strong specialization in Catholic faith-based integrated care. The ideal candidate would be comfortable in a setting that uses a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach toward patient care. Given that this practice is owned by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, the candidate would have the opportunity to grow in the development of their psychotherapy skills and practice. This is a 10-99 contract position. The posted range is an estimate of earning potential and not an exact hourly rate. The practitioner will receive 60% of the collected payment of reimbursement. The practitioner is responsible for costs associated with maintaining individual malpractice insurance and standardized operating procedures with a collaborating physician unless licensed for independent practice. Renovo Counseling Services will provide the EHR system, ERx system, admin support, billing support, marketing, and office location to see patients.

Duties

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and risk assessments, utilizing clinical knowledge of physiology and psychology.

Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy options, and behavioral health strategies aligned with patients’ needs.

Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications, including complex medication regimens such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers, ensuring safe administration and adherence.

Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.

Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Simple Practice for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medication management, and treatment progress.

Provide telehealth services to access to mental health care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Demonstrated experience in behavioral health settings with exposure to diverse populations.

Proficiency in medical office procedures, medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding for diagnoses, and medical documentation standards.

Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles along with experience prescribing medications for mental health conditions.

Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.

Strong assessment skills including vital signs measurement, physical examinations related to mental health conditions, and patient intake procedures.

Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in outpatient settings.

Psych nursing or experience in psych-adjacent settings preferred.
