HOTEL LOBBY

Director of Brand Marketing

ABOUT HOTEL LOBBY

Hotel Lobby is a destination-driven fragrance house for the aspirational traveler. We create scents derived from real stays and real moments. Since our sold-out 2020 launch, we've expanded from candles into a full suite of home products, and are currently at a defining inflection point as we prepare to enter the fine fragrance category. We are founder-led, community-driven, and looking for a leader to help us build the next chapter of the brand.

THE ROLE

We're hiring a Director of Brand Marketing to be the Founder's strategic counterpart, and the "connective tissue" across all marketing channels. You will sit at the center of the brand, managing the execution of launches and campaigns while leading external agencies.

This is a role for an entrepreneurial Type A creative who is a "left-brain/right-brain" marketer. You have an elevated editorial eye, but are also a data-driven project manager who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Strategic Partnership: Collaborate directly with the Founder to brainstorm and build out 360° marketing strategies and partnerships/collaborations.

Campaign Roll-Out: Manage the master marketing calendar to ensure a cohesive and timely channel-specific roll-out (Email, SMS, PR, Affiliate, Social, Paid) for launches and evergreen campaigns.

Agency Leadership: Serve as the primary lead for our external agencies. You provide the briefs, strategic guardrails, copy, and visual assets, and hold them accountable to performance KPIs. This includes acting as the creative and strategic check on our Email & SMS agency, pushing for better flows, segmentation, and A/B testing to grow Customer Lifetime Value (LTV).

Creative Strategy: Partner with our Art Director to translate marketing goals into visual assets that work across every digital channel.

Affiliate & Creators: Oversee influencer gifting and affiliate strategy. Build and lead a new paid UGC creator program and manage high-level influencer relationships that drive both brand equity and revenue.

Experiential: Partner with agencies and internal teams to create best-in-class IRL brand experiences and events, amplified online through influencer support and social content.

Community Building: Lead strategy and execution for community-driven initiatives that turn customers into advocates.

Brand Integrity: Serve as the final gatekeeper for brand consistency across every piece of content before it ships.

Budget Oversight: Work alongside the Founder to plan and manage the brand marketing budget, ensuring efficient spend across all channels and high ROI across gifting, paid UGC, and content production.

Founder Leverage: Identify opportunities to integrate Founder into the brand strategy and storytelling.

Meaningful Reporting: Track and report on the KPIs that actually move the needle: Email/SMS performance, Affiliate revenue, and campaign-specific growth.

WHO YOU ARE

5–8 years in brand marketing with meaningful time in-house at a DTC or founder-led brand. Agency-only and corporate-only backgrounds will not be considered.

A Strategic Thinker: You identify gaps and come to the Founder with solutions and a finger on the pulse of the luxury/DTC space.

High-End Taste: You have an instinctive "luxury" lens. You know when a caption or a photo is off-brand and you fix it before it ships.

Relentlessly Organized: You build systems so things don't slip through the cracks. You manage up and take pride in "owning" the outcome.

Executor Mindset: You're driven by seeing things through to the end—not just planning them.

Socially Savvy: You're tapped into trends on Tiktok and Instagram, and know what (and who) are the movers and shakers putting brands on the map.

Tech-Fluent: Highly proficient in Klaviyo, Shopify, and affiliate platforms. You also actively use AI tools to amplify your output without losing the brand's human, aspirational voice.

In It for the Long Haul: You want to build and grow alongside the company for years to come.
