APL Special Projects Analyst
About the role
Responsible for leading special projects from original concept through completion as assigned by APL management.
May be responsible for managing all or part the budget process for assigned APL special projects. This includes producing data analytics to support the budgeting process, expense ratio reduction goals, and other projects to help APL leaders manage their divisions and departments as appropriate for assigned projects.
Facilitate meetings for APL leaders or APL distribution partners, including documenting strategic objectives, ensuring the Colleagues or teams are following up as applicable so progress is being made toward the goals, and assisting with applicable communication for internal and external stakeholders.
Technical Skills & Requirements
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong research, analysis and interpretation skills
Ability to lead projects involving complex themes, communications related to value-added services and misc. projects
Ability to develop documents (informational bulletins, e-mail blasts and document updates) and communication materials ( presentations, manuals, PowerPoint documents, internal communications, etc.)
Ability to identify and work with third party resources (such as indivdiuals from government entities) to gather information, build coalitions and help advance APL objectives
Ability to present materials to stakeholders and train Colleagues
Ability to understand benefit plan administration processes
Experienced in absorbing information quickly and summarizing in an understandable format
Experience managing complex projects and working with multiple kinds of technology (webinars, websites, etc.)
Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
Must be able to maintain objectivity and demonstrate diplomacy and tact in all situations
Proficient in PC Windows-based software including Microsoft Office applications
Must have or be able to quickly develop expertise in employee benefit matters generally
Profiency in Qlik and budget system (Essbase)

Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree From Four-Year College or University no particular area of study required
5 years up to 7 years
Group 1 - Life and Health Insurance License or ability to obtain within 6 months
