Software Engineer Weather Monitoring

You Will

Develop, test, and deploy features for Waymo's next-generation offboard weather systems and infrastructure under the guidance of tech leads.

Implement and maintain scalable data pipelines for weather data ingestion, processing, and storage.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of real-time and forecasting weather applications.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

Ensure high performance, code health, and stability for systems vital to safe fleet operations in diverse weather environments.

Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and write comprehensive technical documentation.

You Have

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

4+ years of experience programming in backend coding languages.

Strong foundation in computer science (data structures, algorithms, distributed systems).

Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional partners.

We Prefer

Experience in C++

Familiarity with Google infrastructure (e.g. Flume, Borg, Protocol Buffers, OnePlatform)

Experience with payments, billing, or fintech systems where correctness is non-negotiable.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. $175,000—$215,000 USD
