Job Summary The role will support day-to-day activities in Purchase Order creation, PO exception management, Supplier PO acknowledgement, PO Change Order management, PO Invoice Resolution escalations, end-user purchasing process support, shipment discrepancy intake and resolution and miscellaneous ad-hoc activities

As a key member of the Comcast India Procurement team, you will be responsible to effectively execute and communicate procurement and purchasing policies, best practices, and drive compliance of these with the business. You will be expected to meet or exceed transactional purchasing service levels to maintain operational excellence, resolve end-user questions, correctly triage escalated issues, and proactively propose solutions for recurring issues.

Job Description

The responsibilities will include:

Purchase Order Processing & Exception Management

Create POs, as required

Proactive PO system & process monitoring, exception management and break-fix resolution

Ensure POs are successfully transmitted and received by suppliers through PO acknowledgement

Ensure delivery dates are accurate in POs, as required

Perform change orders, as required

Accurately advise business on processes related to PO creation, PO management, and PO invoice resolution

Intake, document, and manage shipment discrepancies including mis-shipped unit of measure (UOM), incorrect model numbers, over-shipments, under-shipments, and PO vs. invoice mismatches.

Coordinate with suppliers to request corrections, returns, credits, or revised documentation for straightforward shipment errors.

Escalate complex, recurring, such as Obsolescence or high financial impact discrepancies to senior team members (Level 2).

Procurement End-User Process Support

Manage end-user queries, providing clear and accurate instructions for all Procurement application and process questions, including shipment discrepancy reporting and resolution guidance, utilizing a ticketing application to manage requests. Accurately triage issues to the appropriate support group

Perform ad hoc one-on-one trainings, as required

General Support

Effectively communicate procurement and purchasing policies to the business

Accurately escalate issues to the correct stakeholder group

Perform User Acceptance Testing as required

Assist in new process change initiatives

Challenge existing practices and execute improvements to standardize and streamline processes

Other relevant duties as assigned

Shipment Accuracy & Operational Support

Support resolution of basic shipment-related discrepancies.

Ensure proper system updates following corrections (PO changes, goods receipt adjustments, ticket closure documentation).

Maintain accurate audit trail documentation for shipment discrepancy cases.

Identify recurring supplier shipment errors and escalate trends appropriately.

Requirements

Key requirements and experience include:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or Information Systems or Technology or Engineering or equivalent education

Purchasing system experience, specifically SAP and IBM Maximo highly desired

Experience working with a data reporting platform/warehouse

Experience working with an issue tracker / ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.)

0-3years of procurement experience with large telecom or technology or media company

Experience and knowledge in Transactional procurement (Procure to pay – P2P): PR process, PO process, Invoice resolution

Demonstrated quantitative and data analysis skills

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Experience working with end-users virtually, via email and/or phone to discuss and resolve issues is required

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including correctly determining escalation paths for issues

Independent analytical thinking to proactively provide ideas for process improvement

Exceptional work ethic and team player with excellent time management skills

Advanced knowledge and experience using M365 application suite

Accuracy of work product and excellent attention to detail are required

Experience working in global delivery model / environments

Ability to support Eastern and Pacific Standard Time Zone (USA) meeting / calls as needed

Understanding of shipment validation concepts (UOM accuracy, model verification, quantity reconciliation) preferred
