Machinist Bridgeport Drilling Level 2 Position

The Bridgeport and Drill Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating manual milling machines (Bridgeport) and drill presses to fabricate, modify, and repair metal and plastic components according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to read technical drawings. Must have 3 years of Bridgeport drill experience. If not, please don't apply.

Production Job Duties:

Manual machinist; Bridgeport set-up & operation (includes rotation)

Set up and operate Bridgeport milling machines to perform operations such as milling, drilling, boring, and tapping

Operate drill presses for accurate hole placement and sizing

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work instructions

Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials

Measure parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure tolerances are met

Perform basic machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working condition

Deburr and finish parts as required

Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Work independently or with team members to meet production deadlines

Qualifications

Experience operating manual milling machines (Bridgeport) and drill presses

Ability to read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings

Knowledge of machining principles, tooling, and materials

Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators)

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, geometry)

Ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines

1–3+ years of machining experience

Trade school or technical training in machining or manufacturing

Experience with layout work and part setup

Familiarity with CNC machines (a plus, but not required)
