CNC Swiss Setup Machinist

Job Title: Swiss Setup Machinist – 1st Shift

Job Description:

Under direct supervision of the Swiss Department Supervisor, a Swiss Machine Setup Machinist performs essential duties to ensure that parts are machined to the specifications detailed by the engineering prints/Process Engineer. Candidate may work closely with the Engineering Team and /or Inspection Team to trouble-shoot, evaluate, and perfect In-process Procedures as to ensure quality in the finished product. Candidate WILL not require programming knowledge: however, this knowledge is a definite plus. Hourly rate will be based on experience level. Candidate must have previous experience with setting up swiss machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (basic overview):

· Setup and operation of CNC Swiss Equipment at an advanced level

· Interpret blueprints at a proficient level

· Use various measuring instruments effectively for inspection of parts and components

· Utilize working knowledge of G&M Codes

· Demonstrate accuracy with close tolerance machining

· Manage time effectively

· Proficiency in shop math

· Follow all ISO 9001 Standards in line with the company’s Quality Management System (will be trained)

· Remain coachable and willing to learn

· Be able and willing to work overtime when necessary

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Must have demonstrated ability to setup and run a swiss machine job with minimal assistance

Knowledge of general safety procedures in shop environment

Must have the ability to read blueprints at an advanced level

Must have the ability to use various measuring instruments for inspection of parts

Must be able to work overtime if required

Must be coachable and be a team player

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

3+ years of swiss setup experience PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED

Technical degree is a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
