Early Steps Learning Center is hiring full-time Teacher Assistants to join our high-quality early childhood education program serving children ages 6 weeks to 11 years. Key Responsibilities
For All Classroom Staff
Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
Supervise children and ensure active engagement and safety at all times
Follow all ODJFS licensing regulations and safety standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom
Communicate professionally with team members and families
Assist with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, and transitions
Teacher Assistants
Support the Lead Teacher in lesson implementation and classroom activities
Assist with daily routines (meals, potty training, handwashing)
Help manage classroom transitions and engagement
Provide hands-on support to ensure a smooth and positive classroom experience
Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year of childcare or related experience
Preferable experience in Early Childhood, Lesson planning, and continuous daily interaction with children
Passion for working with children
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
All positions require background screening and medical clearance
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Completion of all required state and center trainings
Physical requirements
Must be able to lift and carry child up to 45 lbs
Actively engage with children throughout the day
Sit, stand, bend, and move frequently
Maintain energy in a fast-paced environment
