About the role
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement individualized treatment plans for clients with behavioral health needs. This role is essential in providing support and education to clients and their families, helping them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Client Profile
Pre-teen client (11 years old)
High energy, fast escalation, and strong physicality
Requires full-time 1:1 support (40 hours/week)
Displays a wide range of challenging behaviors, including:
episodes of aggression
self-injurious behavior
impulsivity
emotional and sensory dysregulation
occasional property destruction
Intensity and frequency vary, but escalations can occur quickly
Behaviors may be influenced by multiple factors (developmental, emotional regulation, sensory needs, hormonal changes, and current medication adjustments)
Support Needs
Provider must be comfortable with high-intensity behavior
Provider must maintain low-attention, low-stimulation responding
Must follow a structured safety intervention plan
Will receive full training in approved physical management procedures
Physical interventions may include team-based stabilizing holds performed by 2 or 3 trained adults
The client is physically strong; staff should be capable of assisting with stabilization safely and confidently
Family Involvement
The family is highly involved, present during sessions, and willing to participate
Caregivers assist with multi-person safety procedures when needed
Team-based approach is essential and will be supported by caregivers and supervising staff
Ideal Staff Requirements
Comfortable with physically demanding work
Able to remain calm and neutral during escalation
Comfortable with blocking, redirection, and safety procedures
Able to participate in team-based physical management
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Experience with high-intensity behavioral cases preferred
Training Provided
Training in co-regulation, sensory regulation, and low-attention strategies
Full instruction in all approved physical management techniques
Ongoing BCBA support and supervision
Clear safety plan and step-by-step crisis protocols
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
