We specialize in serving individuals in group living (long term care facilities and assisted living facilities) environments with mental health and substance use challenges.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support individuals residing in group living environments (long term care facilities and assisted living facilities) through our outpatient mental health program. The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience working with specialized populations, including individuals with mental health diagnoses, or other behavioral health challenges.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct support and supervision to clients in group living settings.

Assist clients with daily living activities, coping skills, and adherence to individualized treatment plans.

Observe, document, and report client behaviors and progress in accordance with clinical protocols.

Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.

De-escalate crisis situations using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.

Facilitate or co-facilitate psychoeducational or recovery support groups.

Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured living environment.

Monitor clients for signs of relapse, emotional distress, or safety concerns.

Ensure compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and best practices in behavioral health care.

Transport clients as needed to appointments or community resources.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with a specialized population (e.g., SUD, mental illness, developmental disabilities, seniors, justice-involved individuals).

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field preferred.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Strong interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills.

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in nursing home and assisted living settings.

Familiarity with trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing techniques.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
