Broad Top Area Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatrist who is motivated to provide high-quality, affordable behavioral health care without discrimination as part of our Provides psychiatric services including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various psychiatric conditions to a diverse patient of a federally qualified health center (FQHC). Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive holistic, culturally sensitive care. May provide psychiatric collaborative consultation to primary care colleagues and members of the integrated behavioral health services team within the organization. FQHCs focus on improving access to high quality healthcare and promoting health equity within the communities they serve.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide patient care within identified specialty in compliance with BTAMC policies and procedures.
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments to evaluate a patient’s mental health status, including emotional, cognitive, and behavioral functioning.
Elicit and record information about patient’s medical, psychiatric, and substance use history to inform diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Order or perform various laboratory and diagnostic tests to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorders.
Analyze data, reports, and findings of assessments and other tests, and diagnoses condition.
Administers or prescribes treatments and medications
Counsel patients concerning diet, hygiene, exercise, and psychosocial or behavioral methods for prevention/management of disease or conditions, as necessary.
Educate patients, caregivers, and the broader community on health issues, preventive care, and resources available within the health center and community.
Document patient encounters, diagnoses, treatments, and care plans accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR), in accordance with health center policy (preferably same day) all regulatory requirements.
Supervise Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, and other Clinical staff regarding patient care.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, behavioral health specialists, social workers, and pharmacists, to provide coordinated care.
Participate in interdisciplinary case management discussions, especially for high-risk patients or those with complex care needs.
Participate in meetings and activities as required to support health center operations.
Engage in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices, including those relevant to FQHC standards and behavioral health care. Complete and maintain board certification.
Assist administration and care teams to create, maintain, and improve clinical protocols.
Work cooperatively with peers, Medical Director, and CEO according to established policies and procedures.
Support the mission of the FQHC by engaging in outreach activities to improve healthcare access and address social determinants of health.
Act as an advocate for underserved populations, working toward health equity and addressing barriers to care.
Adhere to all FQHC policies and guidelines, including those regarding quality, safety, and patient confidentiality (e.g., HIPAA).
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to FQHCs and maintain proper documentation for grants and funding requirements.
Participate in Quality Management and FQHC quality improvement initiatives, including peer review, patient satisfaction, and care process evaluations. Incorporate quality improvement findings into clinical practice.
Contribute to health center goals around community outreach, disease prevention, and health promotion.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certified in Psychiatry preferred; minimum of Board eligibility with intent to secure Board Certification.
Current and Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Pennsylvania.
Unrestricted DEA licensure and other applicable certifications for prescribing
Able to secure and maintain active hospital medical staff privileges serving the Broad Top Area.
Experience in a community health setting, FQHC, or similar environment.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse, underserved populations and commitment to serving the mission of an FQHC.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and peers or team members.
Professional skill in time management, self-motivation, listening skills, and adaptability.
Functions within the scope of training, experience, medical ethics, this job description, and the policy and procedure directives of the Broad Top Area Medical Center.
Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR)
Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and compassion.
Bilingual language skills are highly desirable, depending on the patient population.
