About the role

Position Summary

SEI/TMS Drayage is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Dispatcher / Account Manager to join our operations team. This role is responsible for coordinating daily transportation activities, managing customer relationships, monitoring shipment status, and ensuring the efficient movement of freight from pickup through delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment and possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain professional relationships with assigned customers, serving as their primary point of contact.

Provide timely shipment status updates to customers, drivers, and internal team members.

Monitor and manage shipments in real time, ensuring accurate pickup, transit, and delivery updates.

Proactively address transit delays and operational issues while minimizing customer impact.

Coordinate scheduling and transportation activities with warehouse and operations teams.

Identify potential service disruptions and implement effective solutions.

Dispatch drivers and provide all required documentation through PortPro.

Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.

Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.

Submit hauling permits and maintain all required transportation documentation.

Maintain accurate records, files, and shipment documentation.

Protect and promote the company's reputation by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and customer service.

Position Duties

Process transportation orders from receipt through final delivery.

Collect and verify all required paperwork, including Proofs of Delivery (PODs).

Provide customers with necessary shipment documentation and follow up as required.

Accurately enter load information into the Transportation Management System (TMS).

Electronically file and maintain all shipment records and supporting documents.

Track shipments throughout the transportation lifecycle and ensure information remains current and accurate.

Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, warehouses, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.

Monitor service levels and support on-time pickup and delivery performance.

Qualifications

Previous experience in transportation dispatching, logistics, freight brokerage, or customer account management preferred.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with transportation management software and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
