About the Job

The Operations Video Review Supervisor provides administrative support for the Operations Department through processing video requests, assisting in video investigations, basic maintenance of surveillance video systems, data entry, and other Supervisory duties as needed. The Operations Video Review Supervisor works under the general direction of the Operations Director, and in cooperation with Operations Supervisors, the Assistant Operations Director, and the Operations Support Specialist.

Essential Functions

Manages the Operations Department’s aspects of the customer feedback procedure, delegating investigation responsibilities to Supervisors and documenting the results of the investigation

Completes investigations using various software to determine information for proper video retrieval

Requests and orders videos based on various reports and inputs

Uses basic video technology skills and assists the Technology Services Department in maintaining multiple video surveillance systems

Acts as a point of contact for police and FOIA video requests

Coordinates with the Operations Support Specialist on duties as needed and covers duties during absences

Acts as a Street Supervisor when needed by monitoring system operations, ensuring service reliability, supervising Operators, responding to incidents and emergencies, and coordinating real-time service adjustments to maintain operations

Strong understanding of policies and procedures related to MTD operations

Physical Demands

Ability to sit without discomfort for prolonged periods of time on a variety of driver’s seats and office chairs in different settings.

Ability to stand for long periods of time both on the ground and on a moving vehicle to monitor driver behavior.

Fit safely behind the steering wheel in such a manner that a safe clearance exists between the abdomen and the steering wheel.

Fit in the driver’s seat to safely operate the accelerator, brake pedals and floor signal switches

Constant and repetitive use of hands, arms, and fingers to grasp and push steering wheel and controls.

Turn head up to 180 degrees in either direction on a regular and frequent basis.

Walk and climb/descend steps to enter and exit a District vehicle.

Ability to load and unload special needs passengers.

Operate the various securement mechanisms to secure a wheelchair on a District vehicle.

Occasionally crouch, kneel, and bend.

Position requires ability to talk and hear; use vision to read printed materials, signs, and monitor traffic, and dexterity to use equipment properly.

The exertion level for this position is considered medium work. Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects constantly.

Work Environment

This position involves a significant amount of indoor and outdoor work. Position will function in multiple settings including an office, onboard various MTD vehicles, and throughout the service area. At times the employee will be confined to a driver’s seat and subject to varying noise levels and to work outside is inclement weather conditions at all hours of the day and night. Employee will be subject to high traffic, air and noise pollutants, vehicle contaminants, and temperature extremes. There are frequent interruptions to workflow and an expectation to hold and attend meetings on a regular basis.

Additional Information

Work shifts vary from day to night, as needed. MTD operates seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, and this position may require some work outside of traditional business hours.

All MTD employees are trained on the Management System Policy and the impacts associated with this position.

Applicant must pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug and alcohol testing. The employee is required to comply with MTD’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.

Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.

The employee will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout their period of employment and is required to comply with MTD’s Drug & Alcohol Policy which includes being cannabis-free in all safety-sensitive positions.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate degree or higher is preferred.

Two years of work experience in administrative office support, technology, video systems, or a related field is required.

Experience in a busy office environment with moderate interruptions is preferred.

Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Experience in basic computer video surveillance technology is preferred.

Must be 21 years of age or over.

Must hold a valid State of Illinois driver’s license with a current mailing address listed and have maintained a valid Driver’s License (any state) for at least five years.

Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check for prior traffic violations, including no major violations in the past five years and no minor violations for the past three years.

Hold, or obtain within six months of hire, an Illinois Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger and airbrake endorsement is required.
