Position Overview
Executive Option is seeking an experienced Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) & Municipal Operations Consultant to support local government and public sector clients in evaluating, assessing, procuring, and implementing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) solutions.
The selected consultant will serve as the primary subject matter expert for municipal asset management operations and will work closely with Executive Option’s executive leadership, project management, and business process teams to conduct operational assessments, facilitate stakeholder workshops, define future-state requirements, support technology procurements, and evaluate leading EAM/CMMS platforms.
This role will focus on supporting Public Works, Facilities, Fleet, Parks, Streets, Traffic, Stormwater, and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) operations.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management Assessment & Strategy
Conduct stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and operational workshops.
Evaluate existing asset management, maintenance, work order, and service request processes.
Assess current EAM, CMMS, GIS, ERP, and supporting technologies.
Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Develop recommendations for future-state operating models and technology solutions.
Requirements Gathering & Solution Design
Facilitate business process reviews and workflow analysis.
Define business, functional, and technical requirements for EAM/CMMS solutions.
Develop asset hierarchy frameworks, naming standards, and governance recommendations.
Assist with data migration, data readiness, and data governance planning.
Develop integration requirements with ERP, GIS, and other enterprise systems.
Municipal Operations Advisory
Provide subject matter expertise related to:
Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Asset Lifecycle Management
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
Work Order Management
Service Request Management
Fleet Management Operations
Facilities Management
Parks and Recreation Operations
Streets and Traffic Operations
Stormwater and Infrastructure Maintenance
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Planning
Procurement & Vendor Evaluation Support
Assist with EAM/CMMS market assessments and solution comparisons.
Support development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), evaluation criteria, and scoring methodologies.
Participate in proposal evaluations, vendor demonstrations, and reference checks.
Assist clients with vendor selection recommendations and implementation planning.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience supporting Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and/or CMMS initiatives.
Experience supporting municipal, county, public works, transportation, utility, facilities, or government organizations.
Demonstrated experience conducting business process assessments and stakeholder workshops.
Experience developing business, functional, and technical requirements.
Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management and maintenance operations.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively with executives, operational leaders, and technical teams.

Remote with periodic onsite travel for stakeholder workshops, assessments, and client meetings.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate combines deep municipal operations knowledge with hands-on EAM/CMMS expertise and can confidently engage with Public Works, Fleet, Facilities, Parks, and executive leadership teams to help organizations modernize asset management operations, improve service delivery, and successfully procure and implement future-state technology solutions.
Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
